THRIFTY FINDS

Welcome to our Thrifty Finds page. We hope you have fun
looking through what we find at thrift stores,
garage sales, flea markets and other miscellaneous
venues. We look for items that are a little unusual,
items that can’t be found everywhere. Items are
cleaned up and fixed as needed. We’ll refer to that in
the descriptions. We’re just beginning so stay
tuned…there will be more.
Apple Heart-Shaped Pottery

I believe this Apple pottery was handcrafted here in Washington state
by a company that went out of business a few years ago…but
am not 100% sure. It’s lovely and in very good condition measuring
about 8” x 8” to its widest points. Signed and dated on back.

Forest
Angels

Precious oval with angels “frolicking” in the forest.
You can
see the trees and bunny and squirrels. Dare we say a good time
is being had by all? This measures 12” high x 8.5” wide and is
very dimensional. Good condition. Place to hang it is on
back. I believe it’s made from a resin/clay type product.

Country Recipe Organizer
3 ring binder style, measures 9” tall x 8” wide.

Versatile and nice recipe organizer. It’s complete with helpful kitchen information,
places
for recipe cards/photos, pages to write out recipes. In the 3rd photo, you can see just a few
of the “tags” are missing but there are plenty there to write your own. Lovely graphics
with country sayings on the leather-like cover.

Terry Redlin “From Sea to Shining Sea”
America the Beautiful collector’s plate

This plate is in very good condition and is Limited Edition plate no. 14717 A.
The one draw-back is - it doesn’t have the certificate of authenticity or box.
However, if you don’t want/need those, this is an good buy. I’ve looked up
this plate on the internet and it’s selling for $28.95 up to $60. In lieu of the paperwork
and box, we’ll include a nice plate stand. Plate measures 8” in diameter.

Owl Mirror

What a cute mirror! It was in fairly decent shape when found. I did a little
painting touch-up, staining and a bit of refinishing. It’s a substantial mirror
measuring 17” tall x 11” wide. The back is like solid plaster with 2 hangers.
(See photo) The front of the mirror looks like wood but it may be cast. I haven’t
seen a mirror like this. Have you?

Wood Rooster Silverware/Napkin Caddy
This looks like a Warren Kimble Rooster item…but
am not sure. There’s a bold black K on the bottom. This
was found in good shape. I added a black felt liner inside the
holder to make it better. It measures 10” across x 6” wide x 9” high.

Albrecht Acrylic
Canada Geese with Display

Original lucite/acrylic art by Frank R. Albrecht, Minneapolis, Minnesota, 1988. In February 1980, Albrecht began engraving on cast acrylic in his home studio. Retail jewelry and gift stores around the country carried his engravings. In July
2002, he retired from acrylic engraving and turned his talent to beautiful porcelain art.
This piece is striking and dimensional. Unlike other works out there, this comes with the black display piece to really show it off.
It measures.7.5” wide x 8.5” tall and 2” diameter
(on the stand). This has its original label.

Fish Platter

This platter is 15” in diameter and it is lovely. Particularly eye-catching is the variety
of design and dimension in the background. I’ve taken a close up so you can see. It’s in very good condition with the initials TR engraved on back. Beautiful coloration, too.

A Tribute to Mother Collectible Plate

A Tribute to Mother All Year Long, 1977. Royal Croconford by Norma Sherman, Staffordshire, England.
You may have seen these. This one’s in excellent condition. We’ll even include this wood display stand,
free. Great mother’s day gift (especially if you were born in 1977) or collector plate or if you want to simply display
a
charming piece.

Original Irmel? Watercolor

From what little I could find, this looks like an Oregon watercolor artist named Irmel. Or could it be Dr. Mel????
Don’t know for sure, other than it’s original. Would fit perfectly inside a 16”x20” ready-made frame.
Found the
acid-free mat that coordinates well. What would you name this painting? Solitude?

Flying Cloud Model Ship

You may have seen this one. I haven’t found one with this particular boat coloring. This looks all
intact. There are stripes on the canvas sails. A black anchor hangs off the backside. Flying Cloud label on front base.
FYI, the Flying Cloud was a clipper ship that set the world’s sailing record for the fastest passage between
New York and San Francisco in 89 days, 8 hours. This record was held over 100 years, from 1854-1989.

wood frame with rope inset.

Framed 8x10” Squirrel Print

Found
this cute little squirrel matted print. We had glass and
a nice mahogany handcrafted frame that works well
with it. Close-up of squirrel shows art detail better.

Yes,
there really is a town in

with this name. The horse and buggy artwork is
painted on top. It measures 15” x 9” x 3.25” and is
